Believed to be the earliest surviving 13-star American flag, it holds a unique place in the nation's history. The flag is a small standard, measuring approximately two feet by three feet. It is crafted from faded and fragile blue silk, a material uncommon for military flags of the period. The field is adorned with thirteen white, six-pointed stars, representing the thirteen original colonies. The specific arrangement of the stars is unknown, as historical records remain unclear. Currently housed and meticulously preserved at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, the flag's fragility restricts public displays to special occasions.
