As a work of alternate history vexillology, the flag reinterprets the official flag of Florida through a revolutionary, left-wing lens. The design retains the prominent red saltire (St. Andrew's Cross) but inverts the field from white to black. This red-and-black color scheme is a classic combination in anarchism and anarcho-syndicalism, symbolizing revolutionary socialism and anarchy. The traditional State Seal of Florida is replaced with a custom circular emblem. This emblem explicitly identifies the flag's ideological ties, bearing the text "Industrial Workers of the World" and "Southern Coordinating Committee." The Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), or Wobblies, is a real-world international industrial union founded in 1905. At the center of the emblem, a stylized black opossum is featured.
