The Latvian Coat of Arms Flag is a heraldic variant of the national flag of Latvia, featuring the full Latvian coat of arms superimposed at the center of the traditional red–white–red horizontal tricolour. The base flag consists of two deep carmine-red bands separated by a narrower white stripe, a design officially adopted in 1921 and rooted in medieval Livonian legends. Centered on the white band is the Latvian coat of arms, which combines historical symbols of Latvia’s regions: the golden sun representing Latvian statehood, the red lion of Kurzeme and Zemgale, and the silver griffin of Vidzeme and Latgale, supported by heraldic figures and topped with three gold stars symbolising national unity.

While the Latvian national flag is constitutionally defined without any additional charges, the use of the coat of arms on the flag has appeared in ceremonial, decorative, and unofficial contexts, particularly in diaspora communities, historical illustrations, and modern digital or commemorative designs. This composite flag visually emphasizes Latvian sovereignty, historical continuity, and regional unity, but it is not an official state flag under Latvian law. Instead, it represents a popular heraldic interpretation that merges Latvia’s national colours with its state emblem for symbolic or expressive purposes.
