✒️this is a flag I plan to use for a video game project; i thought it would be cool to have this printed and hung on a pole or something in order to motivate myself
the flag is flown by a fictional human superstate that rose to power after world war two. the regime has since brought order and peace to the globe, and through their efforts were able to avoid most crises that were supposed to happen since (such as the really scary parts of the cold war, economic disasters, 9/11, the COVID-19 pandemic, etc). they've even set up a megabase in the pacific sea and territories on the moon!
new pangea is a regime that values stability over freedom however. while it isn't your average evil totalitarian government you've come to see in fiction, it still conducts mass surveillance and expects a certain obedience from its citizens, who are still "free" to a certain degree by choosing where and how to live in accordance with new pangean law, as well as criticize inefficient local systems and officials through the use of the somewhat free press. correction over punishment is the government's way against dissidents
the black heart represents humanity united after decades of strife and sacrifice, the white star and UN-like laurels represents peace through complete order, and the 16 four-sided stars represents new pangea's sixteen zones (areas consisting of the countries we know fused into "manageable superpowers"). of the sixteen zones, two of the filled stars on both sides represents the regime's deep sea base and lunar territories. the black bars represents alignment under one authority, and the gray background symbolizes discipline, durability, and permanence
