✒️ The state flag of Alaska features eight gold stars forming the Big Dipper and the North Star on a dark blue field. Designed in 1927 by Benny Benson, a 13-year-old Alaska Native orphan, the flag was originally created for the Territory of Alaska and was retained as the state flag when Alaska achieved statehood in 1959. The Big Dipper symbolizes strength, as it is part of the constellation Ursa Major (the Great Bear), while the North Star represents Alaska's northern location and its future as a state. The blue field stands for the sky, the sea, and the forget-me-not, the territorial flower. Benson’s design was chosen in a contest sponsored by the American Legion, and it remains a source of pride and identity for Alaskans.

Astounding quality

The flagmaking tool was easy to use, Vincent the Vexillilologist was incredibly helpful, and the flag quality is top-notch. It's a REAL flag, not some cringey fabric but something that creates a real sense of pride for the entire Council of Andrews. I can't recommend this service highly enough, 11/10 would recommend!!

Shop does not honor return policy!

The flag was sent folded into 16, so there are very visible fold marks.

To send a flag I would expect you would normally roll it around a cardboard tube. I tried to iron it but it didn't do much.

Also, the logo of the company is sewn to the flag. It's a national flag, you shouldn't do that.

Anyway, I requested a return and did explain my reasons, but never got reply.

Hi Jean, Thanks for reaching out! Our flags do indeed arrive folded (this is explored on https://flagmaker-print.com/faq), but these folds can be easily ironed out (low temp settings, put a towel between the flag and iron). Unfortunately we can't deliver flags in rolled up packaging because of packaging size restrictions.

We took a photo from our family album and worked with ChatGPT to create a file that reflected what we wanted. We then took that file and manually uploaded it to Flagmaker. The results were beyond great. When I showed the finished product to our neighbors, they all wanted one. We'll be ordering more soon.
