✒️ The flag of the Qing Empire (1644–1912), also known as the Qing dynasty flag, was the official national flag of China during the final imperial dynasty. The most widely recognized version featured a blue dragon (Azure Dragon) set against a plain yellow field, symbolizing imperial authority and the ruling Aisin-Gioro house of the Manchu people. The yellow background represented the emperor and the earth element in traditional Chinese cosmology, while the five-clawed dragon was an exclusive emblem of the Son of Heaven. In its later standardized form, adopted in 1889 during the late Qing reforms, the flag depicted a fierce blue dragon grasping a red flaming pearl, often interpreted as a symbol of wisdom or prosperity, with the design placed diagonally to convey dynamism and power.

The flag remained in use until the fall of the Qing dynasty during the Xinhai Revolution in 1912, after which it was replaced by the flag of the Republic of China.
